This gun has a nice look and features. I purchased it after reading all the reviews stating how tight the lock up is and frame to slide fit. Even Springfield\'s website stated the slide was hand fit to the frame. While the gun is tighter than most it does not feel hand fit and I can move the slide side to side on front or read two to three thousandths. I can also get a little movement on the barrel and bushing. The lockup is also like most of the other production 1911s out there. You can slowly ride the slide forward and not feel the barrel cam up into place. I paid a little less for my Dan Wesson Razorback and it is a better fit gun without the MIM parts in it. The gun does shoot good and I didn\'t experience any malfunctions after a couple hundred rounds. It will shoot even better with some trigger work but I have to decide if I want to stone the parts already in there or buy better ignition parts first. Overall this is a great gun but I feel it is more of a thousand dollar gun than a thirteen hundred dollar gun. If you look at all the guns in the lower price range you would think your getting a semi custom for this price. I am talking about Colt Gold Cups, Wiley Claps, and Dan Wessons, not rocks and other foreign jobs. That is the other positive about this gun. It has a tag on it stating it was made in America.
