Kel-Tec 6 + 1 Round Double Action Only 380 ACP Blue w/Green Fram [P3ATGN]

I was uncertain about buying this gun because of the many bad reviews I have read and the many negative comments on the internet. I bought it anyway. When I opened the box I immediatly knew that this was a gun that would need work. Bad finish, mold parting lines, etc. Then I racked the slide to remove the safety plug. The rack stayed open. I knew this gun did not have a slide stop, so something was wrong. After two hours of pushing, shoving, cursing, etc. it still would not close. With the help of a special tool called a mallet, it closed. Then, it would not come apart. I removed the assembly pin and could not budge the slide off of the frame. New gun, mind you. The same special tool solved that problem. As I inspected the parts and discovered that the barrel was BIGGER than the slide chamber. If you pushed HARD, you could install the barrel into the slide. Once in, it bound up and I had to beat it out. Another 2 or three hours with a Dremel, crocus cloth, buffing wheels, etc. I had hand fitted the slide to the barrel. It worked. Off to the range I went. I shot FMJ, hallow points that looked like ashtrays, and other random rounds. Guess what? Not ONE problem in 100 rounds. AND, it shoots exactly where you point it. Not high, not low, not left or right. A 5 shot 7 yard group of hollow points resulted in three holes touching and two very near. So now, I think it's a great gun if you like to work on guns. Keltec builds cheap guns, (sorry, LOW COST) but even cheap guns should have better quality control. Made in the USA? In my case, it was made twice n the USA. I did have fun repairing it, however!
