Well, first the bad: The weapon was absolutely filthy when I received it. After completely disassembling it I realized just how dirty it was. There was not a single piece that wasn't caked with gunk. When I got it all cleaned and reassembled I found out the other bad part: The Taurus PT1911 with the rail is shaped differently than any other 1911 with a rail. So much so, that no manufacturer makes a holster that will fit it. Except for Taurus, of course... The aluminum frame does feel noticeably lighter, and the trigger rattles a lot. On the other hand, Taurus DOES make a great 1911! It's a solid and reliable weapon. I especially like the adjustable Novak sights and the adjustable trigger, which I'll have to replace on mine, unfortunately. Overall, I'm happy with my gun. Great price from Bud's, of course, I just wish someone had noted the oddly-sized rail before. It probably wouldn't have changed my mind, but I hate being surprised...
