||Beautiful gun! I love the two tone finish. Had a few failures to eject early on during rapid fire as expected due to breakin and mostly the fact the I was limp wristing it a bit. That .45 pushes you around! Functions great after 150 rounds.
conceals well due to thinness
Trigger is adjustable for overtravel with set screw and reset with bendable wings.
Oh yeah and it looks great.
Taurus packs these things for the next millenium. COVERED in packing grease and nastiness. Full strip and clean required before I would shoot it. I like cleaning guns so this isn't really a con so much.
Rear sight is crooked a bit. Not noticable while shooting cause you only use the sillouette and doesn't effect aim. But if your looking down at the top of the pistol it is canted to the left by 2-3 degrees. Doesn't bother me cause I want night sights eventually anyway.
Grips are nothing to write home about but I would never leave stock grips on any gun. Especially 1911s. Gotta pesonalize it.
The finish of the barrel was natural dull silver and a little un even and unnattractive after shooting left some wear marks. Took some sand paper to it and brushed it to match the sides of the slide and it looks great!
The Taurus mags seem iffy but I've never held another 1911 mag so they may all be the same design. These are working fine anyway. Just a bit hard to load and unload.
Overall this is my new favorite gun. The 1911 is begging to be costomised and I can't wait to start fitting Wilson combat mag well and hammer and sear and extended slide stop and much more! If your looking for s great entry level 1911 that doesn't look like an old military rattle trap Like all the "GI standard" entry levels for around the same price from other brands. This ones got all the bells and whistles to start you off on your 1911 adventure!
