Alright everybody I'm back after I pumped my first 100 rounds of 230-grain FMJ's through it.
Within the first 48 rounds I had 6 FTF's, but to no fault of the gun itself! I was using Winchester White Box ammunition purchased locally @ wally world that ended up being very dirty from the factory - I just didn't take the time to wipe off the first 48 rounds. But with the remaining 52, I wiped them all off before inserting them into the mags - and the gun shot flawlessly from then on.
I can't say enough about how comfortable the gun is, or how satisfied I am with Buds' for getting it to me so fast. But I'd like to touch on one thing about Taurus as a manufacturer, and as I've read (and I'm sure more of you will read as well) the quality control isn't 100% spot-on. But then again, they have humans over in their warehouse inspecting finalized products just like any other corporation has in quality control - and they, as humans, are capable of making human error. While my gun came to me in 120% satisfactory condition, the sights were slightly crooked on the gun. Not to any degree I would be able to comment on since I'm not great with geometry, but definitely made the gun shoot to the left by about 3" at 10 yards. After doing some review, I read up on how to adjust the rear sight for windage (apparently that's how it came to me; pre-adjusted) and with my next 100 rounds, I'll be testing the accuracy of this gun. As far as reliability goes, I'm keeping optimistic about it as the better of the half of the ammunition I used had 0 FTF's, and none of the ammunition had a FTE.
Winchester White Box ammo did alright for me once I wiped off all the gunpowder residue on the outside of it, etc. - there was even some sort of dirt/soil inside of it? Not sure what that was about but I did purchase this brand new and it was less than a week old. Next set of ammo I'll be using is 230gr CCI Blazer FMJ rounds as I've read they're typically a clean round from the factory and should be ready to fire.
You will not regret purchasing this firearm, or dealing with BudsGunShop.com - Enjoy!
