I've had my C9 since April and so far I've had no problems with it in over 1,500 rounds. It's +P+ rated and loves to shoot defensive ammo, but is happy with just about anything I feed it from 115gr ball to 147gr JHP. I tried Blazer silver case (some kind of aluminum alloy) tonight and it didn't like it - poor extraction, but that's a first.
Something that I've noticed is that everyone who's shot it has really liked it and been surprised by it. They've heard the same bad press I did before I bought mine and were expecting something less. Yes, it's a bit big. No, it's not the prettiest gun on the planet. Yes, it's a bit on the bulky side. When you get past that, it's an affordable firearm that goes bang every time and sends the bullet where I want it to go. My C9 is my primary home defense weapon. It stays in its holster with ten rounds in the magazine, one in the chamber, one full eight round magazine in the holster pouch, and another full eight round magazine nearby. I depend on my Hi-Point and highly recommend this firearm.
