So I just got back from the range with this ugly stick, so here is my initial review. First impressions when opening the box; its ugly, its heavy, and it rattles. I later discovered via the owners manual that the parts making the rattling are internal safety mechanisms designed to prevent firing if dropped. Put 150 rounds through this thing (Fiocchi 230grs FMJ) to be precise. First couple mags and this thing performed like a champ. Recoil was what I expected from a 45. Had one failure to feed. The previous round fired fine and didn't feel under-powered. The next round was lined up properly with the barrel, but for some reason the slide failed to fully return forward. I didn't notice it at first because I was focused at the target downrange and the last round felt normal. I didn't notice the malfunction until I attempted to pull the trigger. Apparently there is a safety mechanism which prevents the trigger from being pulled if the slide is not in the proper position. Good thing too, because the round was lined up properly in the gun so I'm sure the pin would have struck the primer if I pulled the trigger. It could have blown up in my hand, or worse, backfired in my face. I didn't perform any sort of cleaning or lubing when I first got it, so the only lubricant was the thick grease gunk applied at the factory. As this malfunction occurred about half way through my first box of ammo, and the next 120 or so rounds fired went off without a hitch, I am willing to chalk this up to new gun/magazine stiffness. I'm confident this malfunction won't happen in the future once I get that factory gunk cleaned out of there and get some decent lube on it. As for accuracy this thing performed like a champ. I was shooting groups comparable to my CZ SP-01 Phantom 9mm, which is one of the more accurate handguns I have fired. One other thing, the manual safety does not work. The trigger pull is the same with the safety in the either the fire or safety position. This may be a problem for some, but I am not worried about it. I don't chamber a round until I am ready to shoot, so for me the entire big heavy slide functions as my safety. As for Bud's, I bought this on a Wednesday, it shipped Thursday, and I picked it up from my local FFL dealer on Saturday.
