First off, I'm a new gun owner and not an expert by any means. I was attracted to Hi-Point the same reason I think anyone would be.....the price. I've done a fair amount of research on this gun and discovered it has a pretty bad rep out there, but on the other hand there's a fair amount of people who stand behind these guns 100% like most of the reviews you see here. Kinda like Ford vs. Chevy really. I figured if it shoots...money well spent.....if not.....I got what I paid for. I haven't received the gun yet, but from the research I've done on this I'd like to share a few tips for those who may be having issues with the gun jamming (upon research this seems to pop up frequently). These are common things I've seen throughout the internet that I thought would be useful to some of you. 1) Clean the gun before first use - Get rid of that factory grease and get some good lube in it (I would assume this is standard for any firearm really), also I've heard polishing the feed ramp helps as well since it comes from the factory painted and may cause potential drag. 2) Don't limp wrist fire the gun - Any blow back fed gun needs some stability from the shooter as to not take away from the slides energy to properly reload the next round. 3) I heard that the magazine can sometimes cause jams as well due to a weak spring, disassembling the mag and stretching the spring wouldn't hurt or purchase a better one from Hi-Point directly for about $15. I'll send another post when I get mine and let y'all know how it performs for me. Thanks buds for awesome and easy service!
