Just bought this gun, and my only complaint is that I had to wait 2 weeks for Bud's shipping. It was worth the wait, though. I ran several hundred rounds through it, cleaned it and ran several hundred more. Mixed quality ammo, including some of the high end self defense to the factory cheapos to some hand loads. It has performed flawlessly. After about 600 round of ammo, I have not had one single jam. NOT ONE.
I have even tried a 1911 modified magazine in it, and it runs ammo no problem that way, too. I have friends that own Hi Points, and they are telling me the same story. I have fired the 9mm, the .40, and the .45 (both in handgun and carbine) and I just can't seem to find any problems with these guns. I am not sure where the bad reviews and negative publicity are coming from. If you are shopping and can't make a decision, please don't rely on the gun snobs for their advice. I can tell you first hand that these are top quality and flawlessly performing guns. You can't beat the performance and reliability. They come with a lifetime warranty if something should go wrong, and you certainly can't beat the price! So, instead of paying through the nose for a brand name, why not spend that money on a Hi Point (or 3) and use the rest of that money for ammo!
