Bought two of them and am pleased with them both; 38 Specials. Charter Arms are inexpensive handguns that have been around and been reliable for decades, some call them "cheap" handguns. That's okay, they can make fun if they like, but if the s___ jumps off I'll more than likely have a 3-10 feet distance to work with and "pretty" or "expensive" won't matter anymore.

I have yet to shoot this gun, but I am very impressed with it's appearance. I am sure I will be very pleased. Bud's is a great place to shop!

Excellent weapon! I love it

I didn't like this gun and ended up selling it. When I would get up past 40 or 50 rounds, it would jam, and one time stopped working altogether. I kept in clean but it just struggled with multi-round practice sessions.

charter arms is a quality made gun in the u.s.a it has a very comfortable grip and feels good in your hand. i bought a s/w airweight earleir and this one feel much better. jvery happy with it. john w.

After a couple of weeks I had an opportunity to test-fire this small .38 special, and overall, I was happy with it. I expected there to be more recoil due to the light weight, and that was the case, but I quickly became use to it. The rubber gripes help absorb the shock. However, I can't imagine anyone firing a .357 magnum lite without getting a sore hand! I'm no marksman, but I was fairly accurate with it. I believe it's going to be a great conceal carry gun.
Not really a negative, but something to be aware of, is the aluminum frame requires a different product for cleaning than I had used previously. Following recommendations I read on-line, I used G-96 Nitro Solvent and Break Free CLP. So far, I haven't had any problems with those.

Buds service was great on this revolver. This was priced $100 less on Buds than at my local big box Sporting Goods store. The gun was at my FFL 2 days after I placed the order, so Buds does not disappoint. As for the revolver, I own many firearms and I purchased this as a reliable conceal and carry weapon. When I first opened it, I liked the look and feel of the revolver, light and well balanced. Everything was a little stiff, but a cleaning and proper lube got things moving as they should. At the range, I fired about 200 rounds and the gun functioned perfectly. The revolver is pretty accurate for a short barrel and the fixed sights were right on target. The +P rounds have a more stout recoil, but the gun is very manageable, even for smaller shooters. Trigger pull was smooth for a revolver and I'm very satisfied with the performance of the Charter Arms product. The quality of the gun is great! Charter Arms is an American company and the guns have lifetime warranties, should you ever have a problem. I will probably buy the compact boot grip to make the revolver a little smaller for carry. The 3 finger combat grips that come with the revolver fill the hand nicely for range shooting, but I think I will want the compact grips, not a huge issue, the gun is still small and light with the larger grip. All and all, I would recommend the Charter Arms revolver to anyone who wants a small, reliable carry weapon and I would certainly recommend Buds for as the best retailer, hands down.
