I use this as my carry piece, and trust it with the lives of me, my family and my friends without a moments' pause. The first thing of any importance when I choose a carry piece is that, no matter what, when I pull the trigger it has to fire. Period. I have been completly unable to get any misfeed, misfire, or failure to eject in over 1k rounds of punishment, several hundred at a time, including a couple dozen clips straight of +P and +P+ hydra shock and JHP's, and a few clips straight of some very dirty low-power FMJ's. In fact, it still looks, feels and operates exactly like new.
It hits like a .40 should, but muzzle flip is extremely controllable and followup shots are a breeze. The only larger-caliber handgun I've fired that was in any way as good or better than this was it's bigger brother, a full sized Hk USP .45ACP Tactical (and good luck CCW with that!). It fits my hand perfectly, and is EXTREMELY easy to conceal.
Accuracy is top notch as well. You really do get what you pay for! The first clip through this was my first time ever firing a .40S&W at all, and my groupings at 20 feet were within 1.5" in the very first 10 trigger pulls!
Aftermarket is very plentiful (including the ability to convert any variant to any other variant with the proper parts, and the availability of threaded barrels to attach any of the NFA goodies that fit on it's bigger brothers, the Tactical and the Mk23). Overall, I purchased this handgun after firing a USP .45 Tactical and on the recommendation of a friend, and I've never been happier with a purchase. It met and exceeded every single expectation and requirement I had for it.
