Being the owner of a Magnum Research Desert Eagle (in custom shop black chrome) I must say, there isn't a better choice in handgun if you want a very accurate, very reliable piece of 'field artillery' without wheels then this is the gun for you. Although very heavy (72.5 ounces empty), the Desert Eagle's recoil is tamed down, to that of a stout .357 magnum in my opinion. Reliability is very satisfying, after firing almost 400 rounds through it over the past year, I have never had one malfunction. This gun you can trust, anytime you insert a magazine, and pull the trigger. It will go boom. Dirty or clean.
