i recently took delivery of a remington 597from buds at my local ffl shop. it arrived, and before accepting i carefully inspected the rifle as suggested multiple places on buds site. the stock was crushed in the wrist . i returned the rifle which was returned with a new stock. i accepted the rifle and after mounting a leupold scope attempted to sight it in. i could not keep a 10 shot group inside a 10 inch circle. i double checked the base and rings on the scope and found them to be torqued correctly. i then seperated the stock from the action and discovered a cracked reciever. i contacted remington, took the rifle to the local remington service center, they shipped the rifle to remington and 2wks later i recieved a new rifle . since this was a different serial number we had to repeat the registration process. my point is buds policy is clearly stated several places on the website. the complaints about recieving damaged products are regretable but common sense tells us buyer beware. inspect you delivery, return if damaged, count on remington to stand behind their products.
