This is the second part of my review.
After reading several disturbing posts about chipping and flaking finishes on the CPOs, I convinced my wife to allow me to test drive my B-Day present early. Over the course of 3 weeks, I have fired 1060 rounds of various 9mm ammo through my P226 CPO. I have also cleaned it 4 times with Hoppes and CLP. The gun was completely reliable with the only problems occuring with a few rounds of some very old and questionable ammo I have lying around. It shot slightly to the left with WWB but dead on with Remington UMC (Both FMJ) It was also dead on with Federal and Speer 115 grain HP. I also had some old low powered S&B 115 grain ammo that it shot without a hitch. I fired everything at 25 yards and all my 15 round groups fit inside the size of my fist.
As far as the finish is concerned. I experienced no chips or flakes during or after the shooting session or during cleaning. I noticed a little bit of wear on the rails after the first shooting session, but nothing that got worse as I shot the gun more and nothing that caused chipping. Unfortunately, now my wife wants it back to put away until my birthday. This was a great deal at &520, and now they are $20 less!
