I felt truly blessed to find a well used but still serviceable top tier handgun, an 80s era, 40 caliber, Sig P229.

The barrel fit perfectly and I have fired 80+- rounds with no issues at all. It makes a great addition to my 40SW P229.

Worked as expected, easy as breaking down the pistol to clean however; putting in the .357 Sig barrel back in. Perfect fit in my Legion P-229.

PS- .357 SIG is way ahead of any other round for CCW! Has some serious power and if the bullet doesn't hit exactly where it will do the most
good the muzzle blast will most assuredly finish the "bad behavior" modification! Accurate as all get out with Sig and Underwood ammo.

Factory Sig barrel in .357 Sig fits perfect in my P229 .40S&W. Normally you go the other way but I got a deal on a case of .357Sig ammo.

I have an old police trade in P229 that was in 40. The barrel that came with it was used quite a bit and pretty worn. I decided that I wanted to try the 357 sig and purchased this barrel as a replacement. Install was simple and done in a cleaning session. You just take the gun apart, drop in the new barrel, and your ready to go. I would recommend and did replace the recoil spring with a new one during the swap if the old spring has seen a lot of rounds. Took it out shooting not too long after swapping out the barrel and was pleasantly surprised. That old police trade in is a tack driver with the new barrel. It is also fun and comfortable to shoot for extended sessions. I’m very happy that I decided to swap to the 357 sig barrel.

I love this caliber. Unfortunately, both of the 229s I bought were in 40 (they discontinued the model in both 40 and 357 sig). This is second conversion barrel for P229s that I’ve purchased from buds. Both of them are great. I highly recommend.

I bought as a caliber change for my 40 s&w. Dropped right in but unfortunately would not cycle any hollow point ammunition. 100% FTF. The ammo would hang on the feed ramp. I contacted sig and they sent a prepaid shipping label to send the gun and barrel in to make it right. Hopefully I'll get things going soon.

Got this 357 Sig barrel to go with the Sig P229 40 LE I got from Buds about a month ago. Bud s price $15 less than other on line Gun dealers. This has worked flawlessly in my P229 for several years now. 357Sig ammo can be pricey, but is fun to shoot.

Sig factory barrel. Fit like a glove in my new CPO Sig P229 40S&W. Haven't had the chance to shoot with it yet but I have no doubt it'll be awesome. I like the fact I can now change out barrels, 40 for the range and 357 Sig for the streets.

I bought this barrel because my old police department issued the .357 SIG cartridge, and I grew to love it for its accuracy and power. I specifically wanted a SIG P229 in the caliber, but it turned out that it was cheaper to buy a Certified Pre-Owned SIG P229 from Bud's in .40 caliber and just buy the barrel for a conversion. At the time, buying the P229 in .357 Sig was about $175 more. So I ordered up the .40 version and the extra barrel in .357 SIG. I got a really nice CPO SIG with a rail and fresh night sights, and this barrel dropped in without issue. It is an original SIG product in factory packaging. No other modifications need to be done, and since the P229's are not caliber marked on the gun, there are no issues with caliber confusion. I much prefer shooting my SIG with this .357 barrel installed, and now that the .357 SIG cartridge has become a bit less expensive to shoot, I can afford to do it more often. If I get a deal on some .40 ammo, I can just drop in that barrel and shoot the .40. In case you are curious, I only notice about a one inch difference in point of impact at 25 yards when switching barrels. The gun is spot on with the 180 grain .40 load it was sighted for, and shoots about an inch lower with the 125 grain .357 SIG load. My groups are tighter with the .357 SIG load. I don't know why everyone who owns a P229 doesn't have both barrels. As soon as I can find one at a decent price, my next acquisition will be a 9mm caliber X-Change kit for my P229 so that it can shoot three different cartridges.

Bought this 357 barrel for my Sig P229 40 cal and it's fit and function are perfect. Also got it for a great price from Buds and fast shipping.

It is a nice looking barrel, but it does not fit (!)... The tolerances may be close, which I suspect by eye-balling, but it will evidently take a gunsmith to actually install and I am doubtful that I would trust it as a defense weapon afterward. Nice idea - Forget it.
