S&W M327PD 8RD 357MAG/38SP +P 4"
by Robert G Date Added: Friday 19 June, 2009
The ultimate Wash DC defense revolver? If you're reading this review then you already know what this thing's all about. Eight rounds of .357+p in a super-light, super-accurate, fail-proof revolver. Deadly accurate, the hi-viz sights are like magic, and the whole package screams "Performance Center." Definitely the ideal Washington DC home defender where semi-auto is a no-no (other than 12gauge of course). Two very minor negatives, one expected: Recoil is, um, plentiful with full-fat .357+P's, no surprise there, and as of today no 8rd speedloaders available (other than those strip things, which are... ok). Mine came with wood grips that are different than this picture and much much nicer - they aren't reddish-orange like the image and they are sqaure-butt, not round. After break-in session of .38special (great fun in this gun but nearly as pricey as magnums) I put on the included Hogue Tamer grip after the second box of magums rounds, which made a huge difference. Shame though because it looked PERFECT with the wood grips, may switch 'em back because recoil management is a learned skill, and it is very rewarding to swallow your fear and drill a nice group. If this gun looks like your kinda thing, you will be happy when you get your hands on it.
