A wonderful firearm. Using my reloads it was a joy and very accurate at 25 yards and kept getting better. Has a very smooth trigger. Glad I saw it while selling/trading a couple guns to Buds (which was a breeze) and it came with a rebate as well.

Very nice S&W revolver. A real handful. Looks like the “Dirty Harry” 44 mag, but 45 Colt without all the 44 mag drama. 7-8 Ib trigger pull out of the box, but this was lightened to about 4-5 lb by my gunsmith. Also changed out the patridge-style front sight with a ramp with orange insert. Factory stocks are beautiful but a little too thin. Restocked with Altamont “coke bottle” stocks. Good purchase, but needed work out of the box.

Always wanted a big N frame but never much cared for the 44. I’ve always loved the big 45. Not willing to pay the prices people want for the originals. Very satisfied with this one. Heavy but very smooth DA and very crisp SA.

I have purchased guns from Bud's before and a usual it arrived within a week. Fit and finish on this gun is beautiful. Fired 50 rounds through it on the first day with no problems at all, very accurate. The kick was not as bad as I thought it would be, very manageable. A lot less kick than my S&W 44mag.

Great firearm and best 45LC double action that I have ever used. S&W large frame with great accuracy in a venerable cartridge.

Had one in 45 ACP(Model 1950) 40 years ago.
The fit, finish, and trigger pull on this revolver are better.
I have a fairly large hand; this new "square grip " is better than the old design for me.
Ammo is not cheap, but still out there.
Old school, which was the intent.

Smith & Wesson arrived well and was cleaned by me, barrel was of need in cleaning, NOT the fault of Buds Guns.

Just received the M25 in 45LC today. My dad had a S&W in 45LC when I was a kid, and it was the first firearm I reloaded ammo for. Miss that gun, but this one's pretty close. A bit pricey, but its well built and finished nicely. Exterior looks like the old ones, but they're built with newer steel and internal design. Will get it to the range as soon as the weather permits.

I received this handgun on Tuesday. Have not had time to fire it yet, but I cant wait. Despite some of the mixed reviews I have seen about it not being the quality of the ones built in earlier years, I must disagree. Some have stated that the locking mechanism takes away from the look of the pistol. I disagree again. This pistol is a true work of art, with great improvements from earlier models. The finish and fit in my opinion is beyond what I expected. The grips feel much better than the large bulky earlier models. Thanks Buds for offering this pistol at a great price, and your layaway option that helped me to afford this gun.

I have several other revolvers but this is my first Smith & Wesson. High quality on the fit and finish plus its a really nice shooter. My FFL dealer was also quite impressed with it. Its a beautiful gun and a nice addition to my collection. The only negative I have is the front sight is black and very hard to see when shooting at a darker target. I had to add a small dab of white paint to the front sight to solve this problem.

I'm disappointed with the fact that the rear sights are not highlighted and I had assumed that they would come with the nice front sight that you all know that we come to love for shooting these beautiful weapons and disappointed in the grips also not appearing to be wood or as they used to a pair on the ones We've Come To Love have not shot it yet I'm sure it'll be fine I'm hoping it will be anyway and outside of that at him nothing more

This model 25 was nowhere to be found I had it ordered from my local gun dealer with no luck for a month One day I was looking on line and run across Bud's Gunshop.com so I check it out. I couldn't believe it was in stock. Everything worked out I had a local FFL He ready to help so the transaction was smooth. The model 25 was perfect wood grips were beautiful. Thanks Bud's

Nice shooting gun. Adjustable trigger pull. Not enough elevation adjustment for 300 gr cast bullet at 1050 fps. Replaced rear sight with eBay mount and Burris Fastfire III. Grips and frame not as effective for recoil as Ruger Blackhawk with Hogue grips or Bisley frame. Lighter gun however. 0.4525" cylinder throats. Excellent purchase experience through buds.

I bought this model primarily for target use at the range, and it has done well for that. I use mostly hand loads with the Speer 250 grain Lead semi wad cutter bullet. If you're a fan of the .45 Colt, this would also be a good one for use in the field of course.

Companies often introduce made-over versions as "New Classics" and when I first saw this on Buds I thought it was simply the original M-25 Colt being marketed in a new way. I was wrong...HAPPILY so! The gun I received is nothing like the N-frames of my youth. Gone are the super oversized Goncalo Alves that only a size 9 or larger hand could comfortably grasp! The New Classic as slimline grips that are hand filling, yet better proportioned to match the normal human hand. My size 7-1/2 hand with short fingers is able to obtain a very secure grip on these! They are longer, and very nicely satin finished. The grip frame is the "classic" square butt so wood to metal fit is clean and crisp The best part is the tapered barrel...reminiscent of pre-1950 Smiths it makes the gun feel neutrally balanced in the hand...no muzzle-heaviness at all. The cylinder is radiused on the front, wide checkered hammer and slotted, wide target trigger, and of course the firing pin is now in the frame with a transfer bar system. Despite this, the action, both DA and SA is clean and crisp. The closest analogy for this model for comparison is the Schofield...amazingly light for size, and sits perfectly in the hand for accurate shooting! The finish is a genuine deep blue, but more, S&W took the time to POLISH the steel to create a beautiful, "polished" blue that speaks of money well spent to obtain. In the years and decades to come, this model will indeed become "Classic" and accepted as such. It does have the internal lock...but it is not obtrusive against the polished blue finish. Being an S&W, all controls worked as designed and expected for such a distinguished brand. The cylinder unlatches smoothing without issue. Upon first actuation, the ejector felt a bit reluctant...but with just a few cycles felt smooth. The only issue some will cite is the ejector shroud does not mate with zero clearance to the frame...it's close, but not in contact. Overall though, I think S&W has really produced a beautiful iteration of a large framed ".45 Ctg" that will win over original N-frame stalwarts because frankly the "New Classic" IS the better execution of the pattern! I highly recommend this model!

I put this gun on lay-a way in May and paid off and received it in July. Bud's lay-a-way is a great way for me to afford firearms that I would normally not be able to afford. Thanks Bud's. The model 25 was received with a part of the locking mechanism not flush with the frame. I guess this one got by S&W QA. This resulted in trigger problems, causing the single action to require quite a bit of extra effort on several occasions. This problem seemed to resolve itself after about 30 rounds. I put 26 more rounds(for a total of 56)through with no more problems. Time will tell if I need to send it back to S&W for trigger repair. Other than that, the gun is very accurate and well balanced. The finish is beautiful deep blue as one would expect from a S&W revolver. One star off for the trigger problem.

Been looking for this S&W 45 LC revolver for some time. Finally found it on Bud’s. I was not disappointed. Once again Bud’s delivered on price and quality. As an added bonus, it qualified for next day shipping so I did not have to slowly count down the days until arrival. Shipped as promised.

Ordered my model 25 from Bud's about 3 months ago it was delivered in acceptable time to my FFL I had to wait for almost 3 months to get the permits so I could pick it up. It was worth the wait this is one great gun I tried to get a model 27 (first gun I ever owned) but settled for the 25 very accurate as accurate as my model 17 Masterpiece .22 . Its an eye catcher, nothing looks better, to me at least, than an old style large frame revolver with a 6.5 barrel . My next purchase will be from Buds

I've wanted this firearm since I was a kid. So when I seen it here I had to jump !! And let me tell you, I'm so happy that I did ! It shoots like a dream and BudsGunShop was fantastic to work with once again ! Now I need to get the Model 29 !!

This is one beautiful no-nonsense revolver, great shooter, low recoil and great control. Something about the feel of a J frame makes shooting accurate tight groups smooth and effortless. If I had to choose one revolver from my collection, for all purpose use and versatility, it would be my model 25!
