I ordered the Smith & Wesson classic model 27 and it arrived at my FFL extremely quickly. This revolver is a beautiful work of art. Bluing much deeper and richer than I expected. Lockup very tight, and it has a very robust frame. The double action trigger is heavy, but I expect this will smooth out once I put some rounds through it. All in all, I'm very pleased and recommend this firearm to any revolver enthusiast.

Really nice! Just seems bluing has changed a lot since the 60 and 70’s. The blue is very dark. Not complaining. The grips are much darker than advertised. Again not complaining love this gun. Always wanted one. Trust me you can’t go wrong!

Absolutely beautiful. Just what I wanted. I love Buds layaway. I've used it a couple of times. They shipped same day that I paid the final amount. The revolver is fantastic. Very happy. Great experience again. This is my 5th purchase with Buds over a number of years. First time in 2009.

This is a showpiece. Best blueing I’ve seen on a new gun. So smooth and absolutely no tool marking.

I've purchased many firearms from Buds. This was no exception great service received it in a timely manner. It certainly lived up to its classic reputation both aesthetically and in performance. I prefer it over my Colt Python. Fired everything thru it from 357 magnums to 38 specials, +Ps, wadcutters, even some 38 shorts that felt like 22's . Personal defense ammo in 357 was very controllable. It has taken 1st place in my collection. An heirloom really.

Trigger if amazing. Finish is deep and blue. Stock is too smaller for my hand. Would have been much better for me with Target grips. Very accurate and fun to shoot.
Maybe not ideal for concealed carry. The heavy N Fram makes shooting 357 mag a joy. 38 Spcl has virtually no recoil.

What can I say? It's a classic. Plenty of heft and handles magnum rounds wonderfully! Buds as always provided excellent service!

After about 100 rounds, I noticed blast marks on outside of the cylinder between the flutes. Original S&W revolvers don’t have this issue. I sent it to S&W for repair and am still waiting for its return. The gun is wonderfully accurate and fun to shoot. I should mention the double action pull is extremly heavy and the single action frighteningly light. It’s a beautiful revolver but I think I’ll buy a Ruger next time or a pre-1980 S&W.

Pros: Very nice hammer and hammer pull Wide trigger The weight minimizes recoil of the 357 magnum, I can fire it one handed without issue Very accurate Cons: Heavy trigger pull Cylinder does not release easily without some force Scorch marks left on cylinder after firing Overall this gun is far more comfortable to use in comparison to my gp100. It will probably require some breaking in to smooth out the trigger pull and the cylinder release. Despite the cons it's my favorite 357 revolver as of now. Would be 5 stars if it weren't for the scorch marks.

Love this gun. Heavy duty, low recoil. Very accurate. Beautiful finish and wood grips. Extractor/cylinder was loose. Had to tighten. Would highly recommend

I love this classic M 27 look. George Patton said that the M27 was his killing gun in WWII and he carried it along side his Army Colt. I added ivory grips to the pistol to make is more "Patton like". The action is smooth and reasonable both single a double and I will not have an action job on this beauty.

This was my first on-line gun purchase. The gun was shipped quickly and arrived in new, flawless condition. I like the laminated magna grips. This gun has a fairly heavy double action pull but will easily fire old reloads with poorly seated primers. The single action break is almost as light and crisp as my best older Smith. Some dry fire and a few thousand rounds should make it even better. The cylinder gap is .005", rifling and forcing cone are perfect. Even though it's a "Classic", I bought this gun to shoot. Accuracy is great and it's not picky about ammo. I've now bought two other guns from Bud's and a third is on the way. The few bad reviews Bud's gets in the internet seem to me to center on two things. They get mad because Bud's won't ship without assurance of payment. Then, some get mad because Bud's won't violate firearms laws for them. Both of these policies seem reasonable to me for a business involving firearms to survive.

This revolver is nearly perfect. Beautiful wood for the grips - the best looking grips I have seen. It is a model 27 "almost-classic" in every way - I just wish they could have made it a true classic by leaving off the liberal locking mechanism (very ugly) and I wish they could have used the old style hammer with the firing pin on the hammer. Then it would have been a true classic. The coloring is perfect and uniform throughout. My only complaint is that this revolver has the worst Smith & Wesson trigger that I have ever owned. Usually I can rely on S&W triggers to be perfect, crisp let-off with no creep. This trigger feels gritty, with a grit of travel before a very heavy let-off. It almost feels like a set trigger system. Very disappointed with this S&W trigger which will require me to either send it to S&W for work, or have it done by a local gunsmith. Unusable as it is. Could just be a flaw for only this particular one?
