New Ruger LCP .380
[3701]
$300.00
by Michael P Date Added: Saturday 23 April, 2011
I have a SIG, Springfield XDM and a Beretta 92FS. I also have several C&R handguns but when summer rolls around, I find them uncomfortable for concealed carry when out with the family. I thought I would give the Ruger LCP a try so I bought myself one for my birthday.

Pros:
For the purpose, it is perfect. I don't go looking for trouble. I just want to have something with me as a tool to get out of any potential bad spot. The LCP fits so nicely in a pocket. In fact, I found a small carry case that clips to my belt. This thing holds my cell phone, LCP and an extra mag perfectly. If I want, I can toss this in my pocket and forget that it's there.

Cons:
The trigger pull is way too long. I had read several others comment on the trigger pull weight and length and I bought into the idea that it's not a range gun and the heavy / long trigger is part of the safety. I agree with the heavy trigger but the length is horrible. It feels like it's never going to break. The one consolation is that if you ever need to use it, I am sure the adrenaline would offset the length of pull.

I have only fired 50 rds through it so far and my very first shot was only 2" off bullseye at 10 yds away so I feel as though I can rely on this for it's intended purpose. If I could shorten the length of pull by about 1/8" to 1/16" I would give it 5 stars.
