I ordered this rifle Monday and received it at my local FFL on Friday. Rifle is brand new and exactly what was posted on Bud's. This is my second weapon ive owned with an ATI stock and so far both seem solid and reliable. The cheek rest piece seems well designed and well mounted but also seems to be made of thin cheap plastic. Other than that these ATI stocks are perfect for tactical rifles. The other ATI stock on my SKS was put on by me wasnt the easiest thing and it took slight modification but once the ATI stock was on place i found it very solid. This weapon was 8 lbs as stated and still has factory preservants and oils on it. 2 mags bought seperate were both maufactured by Ruger and fit very well. Heard not to buy the cheap ones and decided to listen and not take the chance. Strong spring gives that powerful chambering Minis are popular for. The tri-rail located on the bottom front is short like the ones on the sides. The top is much longer allowing a quick aim system. At the rear and front of the chamber lies 2 grooves for the 1 inch mounting rings that come with the rifle. It allows a scope to be mounted directly above the chamber. I plan on putting a mil-dot scope there because of the supposed accuracy of this rifle, which i have yet to fire. The tri-rail on the bottom front couldve easily been designed to come back as far as the one located on the top. This wouldve given the option to put my forward handgrip / bipod much closer to the mag (the center of the rifle) where it would be more balanced and give the shooter more support. You couldnt put it too far back though because these mags are "rock into place" style mags. which means you need a little more room in front of your magazine well to rock the mag from front to back where it locks in place as seen in the picture. Grip is amazing as with all ATI stocks. And with the garand style safety conviniently placed at the front of he trigger guard the shooter will not be required to change their grip while turning the safety off. The 0-2 style sights that come on it seem well made and effective but limit your peripheril view slightly. This is due to the long tri-rail on the front top of the rifle. Mine came with a Muzzle Brake which was unexpected because it is advertised in the photo. Nice surprise but now i have to send the one i bought on eBAy back. Overall looks like its gonna be a great addition to the safe. I bought this rifle to accompany my bugout gear, so im excited to receive and apply the accessories i bought with it (which include red dot laser, mil-dot scope, forward handgrp/bipod, and Surefire Flashlight) sounds like alot but i dont like the dark ;) ohh and when folded it is much much shorter than my M-4 totally collapsed which is a good selling point. Very satisfied and impressed with this machine! cant wait to learn to field strip it, get all the Preservatant out, and take it to the range. Thanks Bud's!!!
