16 (15+1) rds of 10mm puts this pistol amongst the most powerful in the world. Don't get me wrong, this is a full size handgun. My 21 (.45 Gen 1) was just a hair too wide for my hand. I wanted the same power with a slimmer grip. I did myself one better. More powerful, slimmer grip. Enter the 20SF. The short frame makes this gun flawless. It cycles any round like a Glock should. And is more accurate than I can shoot. I added Mepro nights and a Lasermax guide rail to make this the ultimate doomsday pistol. I couldn't be happier. I dropped a 6" factory Glock barrel in this cannon and OH MY! Add another 100fps to the bullet.
The reason I say this may be the perfect handgun is, it can do everything from under penetrating home-defense, to grizzly warfare depending on the load. All this for under 550.00? U kidding me? And yes, the recoil is more than manageable for the average man. The recoil would be a bit much for a 110llb female. I'm not saying it's not possible, just throwing out the warning. The 10mm can be as hot as you want it to be, from 230gr grizzly killers to 165gr ashtrays. Not to mention the conversion barrels to .40 or .357sig (another favorite).
I'm a 1911 fanboy at heart. I can't tell you how many thousands of dollars I've spent on the 1911 genre. So for the record I'll say, the 1911 is the best feeling, naturally pointing, and accurate handgun ever invented. And I'll say the Glock 20SF is simply the most reliable, powerful, and versatile pistol to ever make it to consumer shelves. A 2000.00+ tactical response 1911? or a 550.00 Glock 20SF? I'll take the Glock when doomsday presents itself...actually 4 for the price of the 1911 (one for each limb :) I wish I could thank the Glock Chairman for putting the faith necessary to keep this cartridge alive. Without that decision, the 10mm would have taken a dirt nap by now. Sorry, the Delta Elite is a niche player. The Glock 20 IS the 10mm. And the SF variant makes it the most superior handgun ever produced IMHO. Imagine a .41 Magnum revolver with a 16 round cylinder, but you could reload in one second?
If i were Mayor, I'd send one to every household in Commufornia. Kudos Glock on getting it right. Perfection.
