I was finally able to take the gun to the range this weekend. I loaded the magazine and engaged the first round. I pulled the trigger and... nothing. I cleared the chamber and put in another magazine. Pulled the trigger and.... nothing. I tried three different clips and two different types of ammo... still nothing. The gun is defective. Hi Point stated that I had to pay for shipping to and from the manufacturer if I wanted to get the gun repaired. So far this $150 gun is going to cost me $245 just to get a working sidearm. At this point I cannot recommend Hi Point


UPDATE: Buds agreed to pay for the shipping to and from the manufacturer. Still not happy that my wife's birthday present was so lame. "Happy birthday! Here is a new gun that doesn't work! Don't worry though, if you are assaulted you can still throw the gun at them."
