Now for the Gun:
Honestly, I don't understand where any of the bad reviews come from. I own several Hi Points of different calibers, and they all operate flawlessly. They are a pleasure to shoot, and are very forgiving with respect to types of ammo. Never had any problems whatsoever. They are a fine quality product, and probably should be priced much higher than they are. Only thing I can think of is "operator headspace" being the main contributor to a bad review. If you have experience with different brands, then operating a Hi Point isn't an issue. Every brand does things a bit differently, and a well seasoned shooter knows this, and is prepared to make adjustments in the way they care for a new gun.
Size? No big deal. Seen Glocks of exactly the same size. Get over it. Get a nice holster and it isn't an issue.
Weight? For God's sake, people, MAN-UP. This gun weighs no more than a Ruger Blackhawk fully loaded. Once again, a nice holster does the trick. Oh, you want a little girly gun? Get a little .25 auto and hide it in your panties, girly man! This is a real gun, for real men.
Polymer/"plastic" issues? Get over it, again. They make engines out of that stuff. Stop complain and and get you one, treat it right, and enjoy. All you naysayers out there? Learn how to care for a gun properly, and GET A LIFE.
