Hi Point .45 ACP w/4 1/2" Barrel & Hard Case 9 + 1 Capacity

$168.00

The first thing you notice is that the thing is a huge, heavy brick of a handgun! If you miss with all 9 shots and you throw this beastly thing at an attacker and hit them.. they'll likely die from blunt force trauma! :) After reading of all the issues these have and laughing about it at the FFL when I picked it up I wasn't expecting much.. if anything failures and problems.

Finally had a chance to take the Hi-Point 45 to the range this past weekend with 120 rounds of ammo. I ran the following:
50 American Eagle .45 Auto 230gr FMJ by Federal (filthy crap)
20 Federal Premium Low Recoil .45 Auto 165gr Hydra-Shok JHP
50 pack of misc .45 Auto FMJ & JHP reloads
through it with NO issues! At 25 yards with a slow-fire pistol paper target I dumped all 120 rounds through the center with a spread of only 3 3/4". Had 2 strays about 1 1/2" out of that. Most were 1 - 2 second shots per range rules however had several double taps and twice I squeezed off 4 or 5 at a time. Couple lanes down were 2 girls, mid 20s, shooting a Glock 9mm and their life sized target was riddled with holes.. 1/2 maybe on target. They asked if they could try the 45 and I said sure so 1 went off to buy a box of ammo. They fired off 25 rounds each and they couldn't believe that most of their shots were mid section hits. Both girls said that for 160 bucks they thought they would buy one also.

The brick heavy weight of the thing makes it very stable and allows even the newest of shooters to be very accurate due to barely any recoil. This thing would be a great fun shooter or a good night table handgun (only after testing though). With 170 rounds through it and no problems I'm quite happy with the purchase.

(There was also a guy at the range firing his Hi-Point 9mm for the first time. Plagued with the thing not feeding correctly I bent the tabs at the top of the mag for him. He fired off about 100 rounds after that with no problems. He was so happy that he gave me a box of 9mm for my Walther PPS that I had with me also. Nice guy!)

Buds: Was my first purchase with Buds and while the Mossberg 590A1 12ga shotgun arrived quickly the Hi-Point wasn't shipped from the factory (drop shipped) for 10 days plus shipping time. Wasn't too happy about that but understand this stuff happens. I'll be ordering from them again in the future.
