Purchased in January 2015, "Season/broke it in with no issue"'. 2016, shot it at my range; started getting light strikes. Changed Ammo, - shot better. 2017, more Light strike problems. 1 Gun smith made adjustment to the Spring; tightened by 1 rotation. 2'nd Gun smith in 2018 - No Resolve. He Called Marlin - Marlin identified the SN, will take it back under warranty. I will know the results - 2019. I doubt I will see this gun before March - Per MarlinOwners Forum with similar problem. One person on Marlin Forum did in fact get the gun back in 10 months - works fantastic again. I hope to see the same, but I will sell it once I get it working. Now- my 243 and 223 in these XS7 Guns , awsome - no issue. I'll update

Price aside, I like this rifle. Price factored in, I love it. I put a Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 on it. I used the base that came with it and bought some medium height Leupold rings. Finally, I put a nice little sling on it. Totally set up, with dealer fee and all taxes, I have less than 500 bucks in this gun. I am shooting 1-1.5" groups at a hundred yards using 150 grain Federal Fusions. I am completely confident out to 300 yards, which is my limit with any rifle. I have two more of these Marlin bolt guns on layaway with buds, a .270 for my 16 year old boy and a .243 for my 13 year old boy. If those are as good as mine, I am going to get my wife one in 7mm-08.

Great gun for the price. Very accurate. Can't go wrong. Love the picatinny rail mount.

I am floored by the look and feel of this rifle...... it appears to be very well engineered and put together. The bolt handle has a nice look and the bolt itself is very smooth. The trigger is just plain sweet. I like the classic lines of the stock vs the Ruger American and the included one-piece base is a bonus. I mounted a Leupold 3x9x50 with medium Burris Signature Zee rings on top and the clearance is perfect. I cannot wait to get to the range ASAP. So far, everything positive that I have read about this gun is true. I am tempted to buy more X7's in other calibers.

Very pleased so far. Nice fit and finish. The action seems smooth without being loose. I added an inexpensive Bushnell Banner Dusk and Dawn scope to it. My aim is not what it was as I am a shaky after radiation treatment for cancer but after one adjustment to the scope I was able to keep 5 rounds consistently in a 1.5" circle. I can only imagine what this could do with a real shooter. At the price I don't think there is any way to go wrong with this rifle.

This is my 2nd Marlin X7. Just stepped up to the .308 from a .243. I am not the best shot, but this gun is a tack driver. Don't waste your money on a Savage Axis or Rem 770. Get the Marlin, and spend the cash you save on a nicer scope. Make sure you buy it from Bud's. Service doesn't get much better than this!

Pros= great adjustable acu trigger, bolt is smoot, very accurate, very solid, very inexpensive, easy to mount scopes due to pic rail that comes installed with rifle. Cons= stock is kinda cheap, rail comes loose(make sure you tighten before you mount your scope) Overall= this is a great rifle for the price and it is way better then the rem 770, I have even heard people say this rifle shoots better then there rem700!

Great gun , especially for the money. Havent had a lot of time with it yet, still shopping for a GOOD scope to accommodate such a great rifle. Buds as always is just amazing.

Rifle was shipped in 5 business days and received very shortly after that. This rifle feels like a Remington 700 ADL and buds offers it at a great price. I don't think that these rifles are made anymore as Remington bought Marlin and didn't want the X7 series competing with the 770/700 series. The rifle is fantastic. Bolt is very smooth and easy to operate, and the fit and finish is superb. An added bonus is that a mount for a scope is already installed (not shown in picture) so that will save you a few bucks for some rings and glass. My only complaint is that the rifle I received was bone dry (no oil) and had some rust on the bolt. No bid deal, a little oil and steel wool took it right out with no problem. Maybe I received the floor model? In short, if you want a nice bench/deer/whatever rifle, then buy this. It is the best bang for the buck. I had the Remington 770 and it doesn't hold a candle to this Marlin. Marlin turns out a really great, high quality rifle and I will recommend this rifle to anyone. Boyds gunstocks also makes replacement stocks if plastic is not your style which is nice. The trigger is adjustable and can get down to the 2 lb range. Great rifle at a great price from Buds

Rifle arrived at my dealer in about a week. The fit and finish is decent, the stock is just so so, but what do you expect for a sub $350 gun. The bolt is not very smooth and it sounds like it is scraping when you rack a round. I am sure a dremel tool with jewelers polish will smooth this out; the bolt on my Savage Axis is much much smoother. The best feature about the rifle is the trigger which is super sweet. For the price this is a great deal. I redid the stock in camo by using Krylon Fusion (worked like a charm)
