Well, heck. I was all set to really like this pistol, but there are two issues that speak quite loudly to me. First, the trigger. Grit city. I think I'll send it back to S&W and complain-mybe they'll do something about it. It just, uh, galls me that I spend $450 on a piece that has a trigger that feels terrible in every way. The aforementioned grit, spongy, flaccid let-off, overtravel, toylike. Hasbro. Yes, I can get-or ateempt myself-a trigger job, but should I have to? I don't think so. I really do not.
Second is the tear down. Why do I have to pull a little tool outta the grip to push down the sear deactivation lever in the port? I don't have to do that on my Glock, or my S&W
SD9-VE!!?
It shoots fine, like it should. I like the SD9-VE better, and it's over a hundred bucks cheaper. It has a cruddy trigger, too, but it is slightly more forgivable in a $300 gun. Not totally forgivable-SLIGHTLY more forgivable....
I am a proud American, and I really try to support US made products whenever possible- hence this purchase-when I knew a Glock, Steyr, H&K, Sig or Italian Beretta would have been better. And once again, I got scorched. If you gotta buy US made, look elsewhere-buy a US made Glock. Shame on you, S&W. Very mediocre.
