Charles Daly Black Polymer 15 + 1 Round 9MM w/4.46" Barrel
[CDGR7300 ]
$373.00
by Bernard C Date Added: Monday 29 March, 2010
I purchased the Charles Daly CD9 about a month ago, after several months of wanting it. Before I ordered it from Bud's I did a lot of research on the pistol. There was a great deal of questionable second hand information but not much else. I found that the CD9 is produced in Turkey by a company named Akdal, the pistols name on their website is the Ghost TR-02. I was still worried about the pistols real value but I really loved the look so I ordered one.
Upon receipt o the pistol I was surprised to see that the fit and finish are extremely good, the internals look hefty and well made (contrary to what I had read on the internet). The ergonomics are excellent, as I had hoped, and the pistol is perfectly balanced. It was immediately comfortable and once I swapped the No. 1 backstrap for the No.2 (medium) it was even more so and the pistol points naturally.
My final test was the range. I took a box of Speer Lawman 115gr TMJ and a box of PMC 115gr FMJ. The Ghost (as I have taken to calling it) performed admirably. Grouping was acceptable for the type of shooting that I was doing and I experience no FTF's or FTE's throughout the course of fire. Recoil was less than expected and the pistol was easy to put back on target. The trigger is far better than I expected, I tend to hat DOA, it is smooth with little take up and breaks cleanly, and it is consistent.
I am so pleased with this pistol that I'm probably going to buy another (even though the price has already gone up since i bought the first one). Once more people shoot these and review them I'm sure they'll become popular. For the price you can't go wrong, I would recommend this pistol to anyone, especially those on a budget. It is truly a surprising firearm.
