I put the M&P15-22 on layaway at Bud's in Mid-January and picked it up at my FFL the end of February. This was my first purchase from Bud's -- as a matter of fact, my first online firearm purchase. Bud's was awsesome! Their communication was excellent. Great experience from beginning to end.
I finally got the 15-22 to the range 2 weeks after receiving it. During the layaway term, I purchased a spare magazine at a gun show. So, before going to the range, I carefully loaded both mags, and from what I've read and heard, care in loading is crucial. Its important to pull the load assist tabs just enough to allow space for the round, while letting the spring apply a little upward pressure against the round as you slide it home. This seems to keep the rounds in a staggered pattern as viewed from the slot in the rear of the magazine. I put 100 CCI copper clad target rounds through it without a hiccup. Even with a couple rapid fire bursts of 5 to 7 rounds, no problems.
This is a fun firearm, I'd recommend it to anyone... and Bud's has the best price including shipping that I'd found.
