Puma 1911-22 22LR 5" Blue, Checkered Wood Grips
[PCP191122GOV]
$177.00
by Craig D Date Added: Tuesday 14 February, 2012
Purchased this gun and Bud's shipped it very fast. Gun is a fun little plinker. Upon receiving it, I stripped, cleaned and polished the integral parts. I fired a few mags of federal cheap bulk ammo and had about a 50% fte/ftf/fail to return to battery. I took it apart again, found that the magazines supplied SUCK, so I sprayed some gun lube in them and had my kids push them down a few dozen times with a screw driver. I also had to stretch the slide spring out about another 1/2" and noticed some burs which I cleared off with the dremel that were near the extractor snags the casing. Put her back together and she was firing fine. Accuracy was real nice without having to file the front sight (will file once I get my bench rest to "zero it in"). If you are looking to spend about $200 on a cheap 22 and do a lil work to it yourself...this is it. My old man (an ex-marine) picked it up, compared it to his original 1911 and said he liked it, but he didn't like the barrel design. I convinced him to get the sig 1911-22 from a local shop. Can't wait to go plinking with him since a typical .45 ACP outing lasts about an hour and eats up about $60. This plinker lasts a few hours and eats up $20.
