USSG 12 Ga Over/Under 28" Barrel 4 Screw Chokes Nickel Recei

This is a basic no frills O/U shotgun imported by USSG/EAA made by Baikal called the MP310. It isn't going to impress anyone with fancy engraving or high-end furniture but it seems to be a well made and a durable O/U shotgun that I've so far had a blast with. The gun arrived at my local FFL about two weeks after placing my order on-line. It arrived in good condition with no damage. Took me a good hour to clean all the thick grease off the gun which seems to be common with firearms manufactured in Russia. After a good cleaning and lubricating it, the action was still very tight and required some effort to open and close. It has eased up a bit after firing about 125 shells on the first Sporting Clays outing I used the gun. I expect it to get better with more use.

I do plan on shortening the ejector springs a bit. Right now they'll send spent husks about 10 feet which is excessive. Shortening the ejector springs will tame them a bit and also make closing the action a bit easier.

The gun is comfortable for me and shoots well. It does seem to be a little heavy at the barrel compared to the Citori I have borrowed a few times and though it may have been a fluke, I shot a little better with this USSG (Baikal MP310) than I have previously with other guns.

Only time will tell how it holds up but so far I have no concerns. For the relatively low investment (for an O/U), I'm very happy with this gun and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for an O/U but not interested in investing $1,000+ for higher-end guns.
