Service, delivery and ease of purchasing from Bud's was excellent. I was pleasently surprised that the gun came with a straight grained walnut stock, and fixed sights. Both features were ones that I wanted, but thought I was settling on synthetic because of the product description, and photo. The wood to metal fit is good. The checkering is not diamond point cut checkering. It is more of a skip line, ala Marlin Glenfield. Good substantial solid recoil pad. The metal work was excellent, magnum contour barrel, adjustable rear, and globe hooded bead front sight. Deep rich bluing throughout. The rifle is a large ring Mauser. rifling is smooth and top notch. It is faithful to commercial Mausers, and I am very pleased. The rifle came coated with rust proofing oil on all the metal, it had to be cleaned thoroughly. I bought the Warne scope bases given in the EAA catalog description before hand, and they fit. The closest you can come for a bug name bolt 458 is $1800 bucks. I think this one is a steal.
