Winchester Guns 535110236 Model 70 Bolt 338 Winchester Magn [535110236]

If you like the stock on the sporter or featheweight Winchesters, don't get this one! This is the only Extreme Weather I have but the stock measurements make the rifle almost unusable. The comb is so high that you have to press down against it to see a scope, then the comb whacks you in the face. There rear of the bolt actually touches the stock, and the comb tapers UP from there! Don't know if they are all this way as I don't intend to buy any more Winchester 70's and I am done with their incompetent service department. I have had problem after problem with each one (6, all FN Winchesters), sent two of them back to the service dep't and got them back the same or worse. The main problem is I believe that the factory in South Carolina has poor management for the sporting guns. No one apparantly is checking the subcontracted parts which make up almost all of the rifles' parts. They no longer finish the bolt faces, stocks measurements vary widely as well as the checkering, some of the bolts won't disassemble without file work, one of my rifles won't feed hardly at all unless you baby feed it, this 338 is among the most inaccurate rifles I have ever owned as well as the off standard measurements of the stock, some of the triggers have horrendous creep (service dep't said it was fine). I could go on and on. I really want to love these Winchesters but I'm afraid they are all just too sloopy and variable. Buds however did fine on all of them, sealed boxes, prompt shipping etc. My future rifles I will go back to Remington or mayber Kimber. No more Winchesters.
