The T/C Venture is a lot of rifle for the money. Although the trigger is composite and adjustable, it's a crisp trigger. I bought a 7mm-08 shooting Hornady American Whitetail. I'm shooting sub moa groups. I plan on keeping my shots inside 100 yards. It should get the job done.

I purchased this rifle (T/C 7MM-08) new from Buds and received it at my local FFL dealer in June 2014. I installed a Nikon ProStaff 3x9x40 BDC scope. Went to the range and shot 1/2" groups at 100 yards with Hornady American Whitetail Ammo. 139 gr. during my first 3 shots. This rifle has 3 awesome features. 1. The trigger is very crisp and I did adjust the trigger pull weight down to 3.5 lbs as measured with my trigger pull weight gauge. 2. The 60 degree bolt is smooth, and the clearance from my scope is extremely good. Your knuckles or fingers have plenty of room to operate the bolt handle without bumping the scope. 3. The composite stock with the HOGUE® Traction Panels feels very comfortable and solid! The recoil pad is good as well. The felt recoil from this rifle is just a little heavier than my Savage 243 Weather Warrior rifle. The T/C 7MM-08 caliber rifle with a 139 gr. bullet offers extremely good accuracy, low recoil which is required for recoil sensitive shooters, plus enough distance for almost any hunting situation out to say 400 maybe 500 yards with practice. I'm considering purchasing the Thompson Center Venture in the 280 caliber to add to my collection simply because of how impressed I am with this T/C 7MM-08. I highly recommend this brand and caliber of rifle. The quality is better than what I expected.
