DPMS PANTHER Semi-Automatic 223 Remington/5.56 NATO 30+1 Cap

I was a little reluctant to pick up the DPMS Lite 16 because I really could not find a decent review online on it. I’m glad I did though. I found there to be a good amount of hate on DPMS products with no real explanation. Personally, I think that the Lite 16 is an excellent AR. Its serves its purpose for MY needs. If you are on a budget and want something for just taking to the range or even plinking here and there I would highly recommend the DPMS AR-Lite 16.

My product came in a factory DPMS box with 2 stock mags, a manual, sight zeroing target, warranty form etc.

I like that its an A3 flat top style. I have already added a magpul rear back up sight and will be purchasing a red dot soon. I highly suggest getting new magazines such as pmags. Though the stock ones work, I noticed that charging the chamber with a full STOCK mag had feeding issues. No problem whatsoever with the PMags. I prefer to hold at the magwell so if you want to purchase a mag well grip make sure you DO NOT get the Mako brand because it will not go over the lip of the mag well. Instead go with the Ergo “Never Quit Grip” (also Recommended by DPMS).

Took it out to the range and ran 250 rounds through it on the first day. Despite what many critics say about break-in period, I went ahead and followed the manufacturer’s barrel break-in instructions. I also took apart, cleaned, and oiled it before heading out to the range. It’s pretty accurate, IMHO. Groupings were pretty tight and I practically shot out the 10 ring between 50-70 yards. I’m a newb so that might not be much.

This is my 2nd purchase with Buds and once again it was a pleasure!! Smooth transaction and super fast shipping. Put in the order online Sunday night and it was at my FFL the following Thursday. Keep it up Buds and keep those prices low too! I’ll be back very soon. =)
