My favorite gun by far. Buds had the best deal and an easy transaction. The layaway process was the best ever. I am a customer for life!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! -Not Bud's, Bud's was great as usual.
After a great purchase of the same pistol, only a month earlier, I decide to buy a second. The first Trophy I received was flawless. The night before this second pistol arrives at FFL, I break my hand in a couple places, consequently I didn't THOROUGHLY inspect the pistol at transfer. After all, the first one was 2 serial #'s away, and it was great, and my hand was wrapped up like a mummy and the pistol was super soaked with oil. BIG MISTAKE.... I'm sure that I COULD have refused transfer and Bud's would have made it right. But I didn't. Fast forward 3 weeks when I finally get it out and start looking it over....
The Barrel has pitting in the grooves, halfway down from the muzzle end. The FRAME IS MACHINED OFF-CENTER!!!! it's noticeable with the naked eye! once you see it, you can't un-see it! As a result, the mag-well cuts are off-center as well.... TOTAL craftsmanship failure....
I take it up with a few of EAGLE IMPORTER's "Metro Arms" gunsmiths, and they can't believe it rolled off the factory line. I send it off, and after THEIR Gunsmith verifies that it was machined horribly, EAGLE IMPORTS decides that since it shoots, THE FRAME BEING MACHINED OFF-CENTER IS JUST A COSMETIC ISSUE, and therefore NOT covered by the warranty.... the same warranty that starts off by saying its a, "1 year warranty from defects and workmanship"...!!!! What does a warranty on workmanship mean then?!
I contacted EAGLE IMPORTS, and they stated that METRO ARMS claimed it was "Consistent with the quality of this entry level pistol" American Classic Trophy is their entry level?? That made no sense, so I tried to contact METRO ARMS myself, but my emails went unanswered...
Ironically, when I described all the problems to the gunsmith, I also pointed out that the grips appeared to have cosmoline or something, filling some of the "fish scales"- I thought perhaps it would help to figure out where this pistol went wrong... and then in the end EAGLE IMPORTS sends me another pair of grips, to replace originals... THAT'S TOTALLY COSMETIC!! AND the new grips had it too!!! I wanted to love this brand... but I cannot. QC can let one past, happens to everyone, but EAGLE IMPORTS IS TERRIBLE!!!!! I'll be making a video soon.

Amazing fit and finish. Truly a beautiful gun. Can't speak to the functionality, as a friend of mine bought it from me before I could even shoot it. Already have another on order, and I look forward to shooting and sharing a more in depth review. Definitely the best looking 1911 under $800.

This is a true Trophy !!! Beware when You go to the range with this Baby .. it gets alot of attention. Very accurate time after time right out of the box. Smooth and great trigger pull.

As usual Buds did a great job on delivery. Five days after ordering it was in my hands. The gun is manufactured overseas, thus there was plenty of heavy protective oil covering the gun inside and out to protect it from salt air if shipped by boat. After a complete cleaning I took it to the range and fired 200 rounds thru it without a single problem. Three gentlemen working at the range fired it and said they just couldn't believe how accurate and comfortable it was for a $632.00 handgun. The hard chrome finish, the grips, sights and the case that it came in were top quality. I was able to shoot close groups right out of the box. The adjustable sights were perfect and very easy to see and use. The trigger pull was a crisp 5.5 pound pull. Recoil was low and re-sighting was quicker then I expected. It came with just one 8 round magazine but my mags for my other 45's work well with it. This firearm is as good as my $900.00 Springfield on accuracy, trigger pull, operation and appearance. Everything is very tight which helps in the accuracy. The finish is very nice and well done. I recommend this firearm and you will not be disappointed.

This is the most beautiful 1911 I have ever held and the price is great. I will add new review after range time this weekend, but as of right now, this pistol is my favorite. Buds is great overall but your order sits in no where ville for at least 3 business days, they need to make that a 24 hr process, not days. Am happy with the pistol and Buds, will buy again.

This 1911 45ACP is amazing!!! It is tight and very well made! When this thing fires you instantly know you have a quality firearm in your hands. It is very well balanced, the trigger pull is spot on and the target accuracy needs no adjustment. All solid steel frame and slide with very tight tolerances which give it an awesome feel. Ambidextrous safety, enhanced full width bevertail, skeletonized combat hammer and trigger, and real wood fish scales grips, etc, etc. Considering all the features of this gun for under $700, that is amazing! You won't be sorry if you choose this model, I love mine.

I have now had my Trophy for about a year. As pr usual Buds shipping and price point for this gun was 2nd to none. As far as 1911s go, this model was an incredible deal for a high caliber pistol. The fit and finish are excellent and there is no play in the barrel or slide. I have now put, conservatively, 4-500 rounds through it without a FTF or FTE. Right out of the box the gun was accurate at 20 yards with tight groups and incredibly comfortable to shoot. Its not a particularly light gun which helps dampen recoil. This is a beautiful gun that functions flawlessly; what's not to like.

Buds was awesome as always. I had a problem with the last payment and they worked with me and we got it done. Just really great people and awesome service. This gun is almost too beautiful to shoot. But when you do bring it to the range be prepared for people coming up to ask you about it and wanting to hold it and/or shoot it. This is the best value for the dollar here with what you get.

Not a bad "introduction" 1911. It is a pretty pistol, and shoots fine, but compared to my Springfield Range Officer not even in the same category... but then again neither is the price!

This is one of the most amazing 1911 45's that you can buy. When I open the case the gun was in absolute perfect condition, no scratches or blems at all. Its a beautiful brushed chrome with all the upgrades, even the grips are very nice. At the range it shot very tight groups at 25 yds. Have not tried 50yds yet. 100 rounds through the gun with no issues including the good stuff and the cheap stuff. The gun feeds everything. I cant recommend this more but it can be hard to fine. Thanks to Buds I got mine and it was delivered quickly. Thanks Buds.

This is probably the best full size 1911 on the market for the price. The gun it self does not have a mirror finish that is pictured which I think is a good thing. Nothing on the gun seems cheap. The grips are very good quality and they have a matte finish. This is an all steel gun internally and externally with the exception of the front optic sight. The hammer does have a small casting mark but that was the only imperfection that I could find. It comes with a black case that holds 3 mags but only comes with one. The mag is an ACT (made in Italy). It does not fit flush to the bottom and it did have feeding issues at the range however, it did feed better as I fired more rounds through it. I'll be investing in a Wilson Combat mag anyways. The gun out of the box was extremely accurate at the range. Half an inch groups at 15 yards with some cheap Remington UMC. I bought this gun thinking it was a great inexpensive 1911 to upgrade. The only thing is there is not a ton to upgrade on this because everything is already top notch. Maybe I'll throw an Ed Brown beavertail safety on it and replace the hammer because I don't like how it looks but that's about it. I'll give the gun itself 5 ***** just for what you get for the price. This is a steal if you can find one. This gun seems to sell out on many websites. Luckily, I added it to my wish list and Bud's kicked me an email the day it became in stock.
