The S&W M&P 1522 has a lot going for it. I have been a 1022 owner and advocate for years but was recently discouraged by the poor quality aftermarket magazines. I had resigned myself to just using the standard 10 round as they are issued. When I saw that the S&W M&P 1522 had such high quality magazines right from the factory I immediately felt that there may solution to my woes. I know Ruger recently put the BX25's on the market, but I have read mixed reviews on them and I am already vested in several different brands of after market hicaps that just don't measure up. The 25 round magazines for these M&P 1522's are built really well.
So, the range report goes like this...
Slapped in a magazine, release the bolt lock, shoulder the rifle, make the sight picture, switch to fire, and squeeze. Repeat until closing time. It fired flawlessly 250 rounds right out of the box. Operation was smooth, sighting was spot on with the iron sights. With a little tuning, some match grade ammo, and a quality scope this little rifle would really be a tack-driver.
This little rifle really turned out to be a good deal. Of course, the service from Bud's was excellent, as usual...
