Magnum Research DE1911G 1911 Desert Eagle 45 ACP 5.05" 8+1 W [DE1911G]
by Robert C
Date Added: Thursday 09 August, 2012
This was my first purchase from Bud's, and it could not have been a better experience. That said, the DE 1911G has had more than a few hang-ups at the range. The first 100 rounds saw at LEAST 2-3 stovepipes per mag, or the slide would fail to eject and push the spent case back forward and hang horizontally. It has gotten better with a polish job on the ramp and some more break-in shooting, but not seeing many full mag discharges without a hang-up. Don't know if I need to change out the spring or what... the gun is really nice looking- fit and finish wise. At this point, I'm not ready to call Magnum Research, but if it doesn't get better, I will send it in. I would not trust it to protect myself with like I do my Kimber Tactical Pro II or PT145 Taurus. I'll get back with ya'll.
