For starters, Bud's sure has fixed the slow shipping problem they had. Ordered an SR9c on a Tuesday. It was at my FFL on Friday.
Now to the SR9c. A little surprised out of the box. Read a lot about Ruger guns loaded with grease as received, especially in the striker channel. This one was clean as a whistle, including the striker channel. I asked the FFL if he cleaned it and he said no. At the range the gun operated perfectly with the 10 round magazine. The 17 round mag would misfeed consistently on the last 2 or 3 rounds and not lock back the slide on the last round. I pushed on the follower in the 2 mags and it seemed that the spring tension in the 17 rounder was a bit light. I called Ruger Customer Service the next morning and expalined my experience. Ruger had a replacement magazine in my mailbox several days later. The gun operates perfectly with the new 17 round magazine. I have 250 rounds through the gun, and the only problem has been the last rounds feed problem with the original 17 round mag. No light primer strikes using a combination of budget Federal Champion and Blazer ammo.
I am very impessed with Ruger Customer Service. I didn't spend a lot of time cussing in the phone cue before I was talking to a live person. And that person seemed to be very knowledgeable about Ruger guns. And she had the authority to do what needed to be done without passing me off to 3 other people. And it only took them 3 business days to have the replacement mag in my mailbox along with a prepaid mailer to return the defective mag. That's what I call great customer service. Confirms everything I have heard about them taking cae of their customers even though they do not have a printed warranty. Their warranty is really simple. If you have a Ruger gun, they will take care of you!
Bottom line, I really like this gun and Ruger.
