Ruger SR9c 9mm Compact Black
[3314]
$407.00
by JAMES W Date Added: Sunday 09 October, 2011
First of all Bud's was great. I ordered this gun late on a Sunday evening. Next evening I had an email saying the gun was in shipping. Next morning another email that the gun had shipped and it was at my dealer the day after that. Then of course I had to wait on my dealer to "log it in." As far as the gun is concerned - it is on its way back to Ruger for repair. If you visit rugerforum.com you will read many cases of people having trigger issues with the SR9C. My luck - I got one with a trigger issue. The gun shoots great but out of approx 100 rounds on my first range visit I had 8 - 10 instances where the next round loaded into the chamber but the trigger remained in the rear position and failed to return forward. Again, after getting into the forums, I found many others who experienced the same problem. Some guys worked on the gun themselves and apparently "fixed" the problem. Some say they waited and fired another several hundred rounds through it and the "breakin" made the problem go away. I'm not paying $400 for a gun that doesn't work the way it's supposed to right out of the box. I will say my first impression with Ruger Customer Service is very positive. They estimate 10-15 day turnaround to get it fixed. On the positive side - I love this gun. It looks great (black model), it feels amazing in my (medium size) hand it shoots great. Despite being bummed out about having to send it back for repair, I have no regrets on buying this gun. I love it and can't wait to get it back. I bought this specifically to be my carry gun. It will have to prove its dependability after I get it back. I'll do a followup review after I get it back.
