Para GI Expert Stainless 45acp
[GI45S]
$581.00
by David A Date Added: Saturday 11 February, 2012
Have had my GI Expert stainless for about six weeks. First time at the range had a few FTF's but no stovepipes. I have fired approximately 450 rounds through it to date, and would like to report that the gun is performing better and better with the amount of rounds put down range. Since purchasing, I have done a few modifications to the gun. Have replaced the trigger with a Chip McCormick match grade, a full length guide rod from Wilson, and a Pachmeyer wood grip.

I have also purchased Wilson Combat magazines, but they have not performed any better than the stock magazines that came with the gun. Longevity of the magazines may determine the better value.

I am very please with this PARA and would not hesitate to buy another. Stay away from Indepenence 230gr FMJ and go with Federal 230gr FMJ or Blazer Brass 230gr FMJ to avoid any FTF's. I have also fired Hornady XTP 185gr without any failures. So far the Independence has been the only suspect ammo for the GI Expert.

The finish of this gun is very nice and appears to be well done. The slide to frame fit is phenomenol, and very tight. The first few time you pull back the slide to the full recoil position may surprise all but the most experience shooter's. Enjoy one of our last freedom's America, firearms are the "new gold" so stock up!
