Buds never disappoints. Fast shipping and great customer service. As for the rifle... Wow. This is easily the most consistently accurate .308 semi-auto rifle I've fired. It's accuracy rivals my M1A with National Match barrel. In my initial outings, I shot two five round groups at about 1/2 inch @ 100yards with a good scope mounted. However, the SCAR is lighter, has much less felt recoil, and infinitely easier to mount optics than my M1A. It's an expensive rifle, no doubt about it, but you won't find a more advanced well-engineered .308 semi-auto rifle anywhere else. You definitely get what you pay for. You can easily imagine spending near the same amount of money getting an M1A completely customized the way you want it and still not be as versatile as the SCAR. Field stripping and cleaning the SCAR is a breeze, and the piston driven system keeps the fouling and cleaning time down to a minimum. The ergonomics are excellent and very similar to familiar to AR-15 controls. Even the pistol grip can be replaced with an AR-15 MIAD grip (though with a little modification). The fit and finish is the only area where I can complain. Every part of the rifle feels like a solid and sturdy, well-built component except... the composite stock. The collapsible/folding stock is easy to use, but feels cheap and flimsy. I have heard reports (disclaimer: not first hand) of reliability problems with the stock under heavy use. In comparison, the composite stock on the Bushmaster ACR feels solid and inspires confidence. I own both. So I'm speaking from first-hand experience here. All the same, if our US special forces can trust it, I certainly can. All in all, the SCAR 17S is still the best .308 semi-auto rifle on the market, hands-down. With FNH USA supposedly developing kits for other calibers, this rifle could be even more adaptable and valuable in the near future. Glad I got mine thanks to Buds!
