My second gun ever was an HR single shot 12 ga. and it served me well. Same frame as I remember. I love this gun. HR makes a good gun. No, its not the beauty queen or the trophy wife. Its like the girl you want to marry for life. Just all out everything you need and nothing more. Your best friend that will never let you down. Don't let the price fool you. ITS A WINNER!!!!! Oh, yeah shes very accurate. More accurate than most people can deliver. Trigger is nice also. Lets not be fooled though. This is a mans gun in 444 marlin. AWESOME...... kids not need to apply. If your recoil shy, don't buy this gun. Wait and work your way up or buy something with lighter recoil like a 30/30. That being said, recoil pad is good, not great but good. You want meat on the table? Want a tried and true gun that will last a life time. THIS IS YOUR GUN.....
