Winchester 7.62 NATO/308 win 147gr FMJ
[Q3130]
$18.99
by Harry W Date Added: Saturday 19 September, 2009
I used this ammo in a DPMS LR-308AP4. I was getting failure to eject. The case to be ejected just fell on top of the magazine and caused the next round to not feed because of interference with the spent case which was not ejected. This failure to eject was occurring 70% of the time. I thought I was having problems with the rifle. I changed ammo to another brand and my failure to eject problems disappeared - all rounds ejected cleanly. I also had eratic shot patterns with the Winchester ammo. A couple of shots were OK then I would get a few very eratic shots. It was bad enough that I thought I had a scope problem. I changed the scope and had the same eratic shot patterns. Must conclude that this ammo is not loaded uniformily (eratic shot pattern) - and do not have a full load (failure to eject). When I called DPMS, before mentioning my problem, the first thing they mentioned when I told them I was using this Winchester ammo was "failure to eject." It must be a common problem with this ammo in a semi-automatic. I will probably use the remainder of this ammo in a bolt rifle. I am obviously not too pleased since I paid more for this ammo than other options available thinking I was buying a quality US made product - NO MORE!
