My dealings with Buds is probably somewhat unusual compared to most customers. I ordered the $386 SD40 on Friday, April 08. I used the ACH method of paying, as it saved me about $10. Even though this is a direct debit transaction, it still takes about 4 business days for the money to arrive in Buds account. I don't understand why this is with the light speed way my account was debited. Must be the Payment Gateway sitting on their money for a few days. At any rate the order progressed and by Wednesday, April 13th, I discovered the Buds Police Supply banner while checking my order. To my surprise, the same gun from their Police side was priced at $320. Needless to say, I contacted the Gun Shop side and sent a CANCEL notice along with an inquiry, asking if I could simply shift the funds to the Police side. I was really thinking how low I was going to feel if I spent $66 more than I had to! Fortunately for me, Matt at the Gun Shop side let me know how to fix this situation. I rapidly ordered the SD40 on the Police Upply site and sent the order number to Matt. Within the next two days, Matt and the folks at the Gun Shop contacted the Police Supply shop, got my original order canceled, and started the complete refund process. That money is back in my account, I picked up the gun from my FFL dealer on April 19th in perfect condition and I am a happy Buds customer. There are many other online stores that would not have been so helpful and accommodating. Hat tip to both of Buds shops! As for the SD40 itself, it meets my expectations for a medium-priced defense/carry gun. This weekend is going to be fun for me.
