I own a number of handguns, but finally decided to buy a shotgun in order to have the ultimate home defense weapon. I was torn between the Mossberg 590A1 and the Remington 870 tactical. The Mossberg is priced a little better and the Remington was out of stock, so I went with the 590A1. I was happy with it as soon as I opened the box. This is a nice looking gun. No, it's not a museum piece, but it is a sharp looking gun with great lines. It's the perfect size for carrying comfortably, nice weight, easy to handle. It appears to be well made, with good solid construction. I love shooting my handguns at the range, but this is the gun I will go for when my family's lives depend on it. I would not want to be staring down the business end of this bad boy as an intruder!
