Remington 700 SPS TACT AAC-SD 308 Hogue Overmolded Ghillie Green
by Philip D Date Added: Wednesday 26 October, 2011
This rifle makes an excellent platform for a very competent precision 308. It's short and handy. Balance is forward due to the light stock and heavy barrel (to be expected). The stock feels great, however it will flex if you push on it too hard and the barrel channel required minor inletting to free float while on a bipod and being pushed. Aftermarket rail mounted true to the bore's axis. Trigger is ok, even adjusted all the way down it's a bit too heavy/mushy.

I got about 3/4 MOA when the rifle was stock, 1/2 MOA with a new bedded stock. Trigger is next on the upgrade list followed by dura/cera coating for better corrosion resistance.

It loves 175 grain SMKs over Varget with a hair under max load in Winchester cases and 220 grain SMKs over Trailboss down-loaded just enough to be subsonic at my altitude.
