Diamondback Firearms 6+1 .380 ACP 2.8"

Got one of these when they were on sale for $200. It's a Gen II, despite the face that the picture is for a Gen I, so that was a nice bonus. The pistol comes in a very nice hard plastic case, almost in the same league as an XDM. It only comes with one mag, but does include flush and extended base plates. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there.
Simply put, this gun is a jam-o-matic. Disassembled, cleaned and lubed before I took it to the range. loaded it up with some high dollar HP since that is the kind of stuff I would be carrying it with. First shot was fine, it jammed on the second round. Tried to finish the magazine, but it continued to jam after every other round or so. These were all Failure to Feed issues. The spent cartridge would eject just fine, but the fresh round would somehow jam into the feeding chamber at an almost 90 degree angle with the nose pointing straight up into the locking block. I have never seen a handgun fail quite like this before. I was not ready to give up on it just then, so I switched to some standard FMJ rounds. It seemed to fare better at first, but then once again jammed after two or three rounds. Once again, it was a failure to feed, spent cartridges ejected just fine. This time, instead of sticking up at a weird angle, the slide would simply jam on the cartridge and not strip it out of the magazine. This happened three more time before I gave up on it and put the gun away.
Part of what made these jams so difficult is because this pistol does not have a slide stop of any kind. This mean that you have to have three hands to hold the slide open, push the magazine release, and try to push or pull the magazine out at the same time. Half of these jams were impossible to clear on my own and I had to have my brother help me manhandle the weapon so we could clear it. Needless to say, this is unacceptable for a carry weapon, and I will be doing what I can to get rid of it. It is unfortunate it turned out this way, because the size and weight are perfect for a pocket gun. The recoil was also incredibly mild for this type of pistol. That being said, I would definitely not purchase one of these unless you got a chance to put in some range time first.
