This is the best pistol I've ever held, owned, and I sold my Glock 17 RTF2 3rd GEN to get the H&K P30S with me in my life. I received the P30S from Buds in two days all greased up in new perfect condition - right before this was made exclusively available to Buds VIP Members only. (3rd successful purchase from Buds)
This pistol is the true meaning of German pistol gunsmithing in design, development, and engineering. The ergonomics of the P30S is perfect (even better than the SIG P226 Elite), and this grip design allows my hand to ride high in comfort without risking any slide bite - no need for a beavertail. This is the perfect size for a concealed carry without compromising the loss of ammo count in the magazine. Take down of the pistol is a breeze (only one more step than the Glock, but you can still do it with your eyes closed and it does not require the user to pull the trigger or to disable the safety). The 2 steel cased magazines provided are not as durable and enjoyable to load as the Glock, but they work well and have a nice finish on them. The styling of this pistol is straight sexy and badass with many serration and groove designs along with a full ambidextrious design for mag release, safety, and slide release. The decocker button is only available on the left rear end of the pistol. The M1913 compatible rail is a plus, but besides lasers and flashlights, I was even able to attach a Mako Fab Defense bipod foregrip to it just for the hell of experimentation.
The greatest development in the H&K P30S that stands out over other pistols I've shot is the RECOIL. It is has been greatly and insanely minimized due to the HK patented recoil reduction system. Though the dual action trigger pull was a bit too heavy for my taste (a definite need for a trigger lightening job if not carrying cocked and locked), the enjoyment of firing this weapon has surprassed my expecations for a pistol. I chose this over my previous Glock 17 RTF2 Gen, the Glock 19 Gen4, the SIG P226 Elite w/ beavertail, the Ruger SR9C, and I have absolutely no regrets on the new acquisition of the H&K P30S to my family of firearms.
