Nice revolver, I fired the 45 long colt out of it and had no issues, I have not fired the 45 acp cylinder yet. I am however NOT happy with Ruger about two things. First getting over priced and second.... The PLASTIC Grips !!!! COME ON RUGER !!! I really think if Mr. William B. Ruger were still alive his revolvers would still have WOOD grips !!!!!

I bought this to shoot 45 acp through more than the 45 colt just because of price. I noticed while shooting that the barrel wasn't in alignment with
the frame so I called Ruger they said send it in. After a pretty quick turn around of about 2 weeks I got it back and it was better but not perfect. I have shot a couple
boxes of 45 acp and about 1 box of 45 colt. They have different points of impact but that's to be expected. Overall a nice handgun and has Ruger quality.
Ruger's customer service was great and I'm happy with there service as I have sent other guns in for updates and whatnot.

Overall, a nice solid handgun. The obvious benefits, over the old model BH, are the ability to fire lower priced 45ACP and the ability to carry 6 in the cylinder. The gun is also lighter, due to the aluminum grip frame. This has it's advantages and disadvantages, such as when firing heavier 45 Colt loads. I was disappointed with the omission of the cylinder indexing present on the old model. This makes ejecting spent shells more cumbersome, and will take some practice getting used to. I'm willing to live with this for the addition of the hammer safety bar, instead of only carrying 5 in the cylinder. The Barrel and Cylinder are of the same dimensions and strength of the old model BH, and it will suit my needs. Thanks Buds Guns.

This is an excellent single action revolver. It’s fairly light but rugged and handles hot loads really well. The load it shoots best is a 300 gr hard cast has checked lead bullet over a heavy charge of H110. Its giving me velocity’s around 1240 FPS out of the 4 5/8” barrel. The brass doesn’t fall out but it just takes a light push to extract. If I had to make a negative comment it would be the grips are not the best. When shooting the heavy hand loads the pistol will rotate in your hand and having the stippling on the grips makes it a little uncomfortable. I bought an aftermarket set is smooth rose wood grips for it to fix this problem. The 45ACP cylinder works as it should and it’s really quick and easy to swap out. Overall it’s a fantastic pistol and can’t be beat for the money. Buds was awesome as usual. Don’t hesitate to buy this revolver if your on the fence.

Very nice gun! Needed to be sighted in due to rear sight screws were loose and needed to be adjusted, but all in all very nice. You won’t be dissapointed buying this gun!

What can I say? It's a RUGER revolver. That speaks volumes in and of itself... And Buds treated me great. I will defiantly use them again..... Thanks BUDS

The Ruger Blackhawk 45 LC convertible is built like a tank. However, the throats are undersized on both of the 45 LC Blackhawks to shoot 45 ACP. I called Ruger and they want me to send the entire gun back, not just the 45 acp cylinder. Therefore, because it happened to both of the 45 acp cylinder where factory bought cartridges would not seat flush in the cylinder. I marked down my rating of this Ruger Blackhawk. No issues on 45 Colt though, very reliable.

Love Buds, you always seem to have what I "need" This is the 5th gun I've gotten from Buds and they never disappoint. As for the gun, it's a Ruger black hawk, what else is there to say, it's a sturdy single action that I use when I'm in Bear and moose county, shoots 325gr hard cast just fine with the hogue grips I added. Final thoughts, buy one, you know you want to.

I have shot about 1000 rounds of 45ACP and 100 rounds of 45 Colt so far. The gun shoots great. The plastic factory grips had a very sharp pattern that irritated my hand. I replaced them with Ruger Rosewood grips. Now the old girl looks as good as she performs. Rugers tend to be pretty tight guns compared to S&W, which can give higher bullet velocities but can make them a bit more picky about ammo, especially 45ACP reloads. I initially had problems with 185 grain 45ACP reloads jamming the cylinder until I discovered that you need to load them deeper than you do for a 45 Auto. Other people I know have had the same experience. So, I now load custom loads for this gun and have few problems. Overall, I like the gun and would buy it again.

It's a Ruger, enough said. Built like a tank. Can handle some monster hand loads, beautiful finish. Only suggestion is to get rid of the polymer grips and get some walnut. Well worth the money.

I am extremely pleased with my purchase experience. The Ruger Model 0446 is one of the best firearms I have purchased over the years. I do agree with other customers however in that I have ordered a better grip. Bud's is exceptional as a gun dealer. Their process is easy and quick.

I own several Ruger Single Actions, they are great pistols. I just purchased this convertible and shot it today. It shoots great with 45LC and 45acp, point of aim was pretty close between the two calibers. Rock Solid firearm, just as I expected it to be.

Purchased this gun several months ago. I liked everything about it except the plastic grips. I immediately replaced them with a set of simulated ivory grips. The gun shoots well with both cylinders and the blue finish is nice. I'm glad I brought it.

Another solid firearm from Ruger. I'm really happy to have a single action 45acp revolver now, not sure if I'll ever use the 45 colt cylinder but glad I have it in case I want to put some hot bear loads in it. Recoil was a little more than I expected. I had heard that 45acp from a revolver is less than from a 1911 - not true. It's the same; good thing I'm used to a 1911. The black plastic grips offer a good hold on the gun, though they are a little narrower than the brown wooden grips Ruger puts on the stainless steel blackhawks. I have medium size hands and feel that the provided grips could be a little thicker for more comfortable shooting, but it is in no way a problem. One good thing about 45acp: all brass ejects clear from the cylinder without having to point the gun up and really jam that ejector rod back, like I sometimes have to do with 357mag in my other blackhawk. This is a great gun, I'm very happy.
