I love my pocket beast!
I'd been shopping for a small all-steel .357 revolver for concealed carry. I'd done some research and decided I wanted steel rather than alloy/polymer, and that I wanted a bobbed or shrouded hammer for both tactical and legal reasons. When this SP101 showed up at a good price, I didn't hesitate.
Two days to ship to my FFL (where the same revolver costs $180 more, btw), Over the course of a week, I've put about 600 rounds through it, mostly bulk .38 Special, plus a fair number of +Ps and a few cylinders of full-power defensive .357.
Sights were dead-on. I couldn't believe how accurately it shot. It gobbled up the 10-ring out to about 12 yards, where my groups started to open up a bit. It was still in the black even out to 20 yards.
In .;38s, it strongly preferred the 158g bullet weights. For both +P and .357, it was 10-ring accurate with the 125g Remington Golden Sabers at combat distances. Standard velocity and +P .38s are a pleasure to shoot in it. .357s are pretty spicy but still manageable. I will probably wind up carrying the .357 Golden Sabers because they shot so well.
Upsides: Rugged, reliable, accurate. Very, very accurate for a snub. Has enough weight and heft that recoil isn't really an issue.
Downsides: The double-action trigger pull is heavy but it plateaus just before it breaks, and you learn to read it fairly readily. The sights are a black blade in a black notch, hard to pick up in low light. I think I'll put a night sight front blade on it.
